Lose Yourself: Reflecting On Life One Minute At A Time
In a recent post I said that you need to get out of the house at least four hours a day. And you should. But I’m going to change things up a little bit today. And tell you that not every hour of every day needs to be focused on networking.
Today my message is about finding time. Time when the minutes move by slowly. And you can simply “be”.
You and I may be different in this way. You may have never discovered the significant value in quiet time. After all, we live in a world we are rewarded for productivity. So the idea of being purposefully quiet and delivering no obvious results may be foreign.
But during my own search in 2007, I found great comfort in escaping a few hours a week to a quiet place all my own. Sometimes with a pad of paper. Sometimes with nothing at all.
And now, even though I am working full time, I still look for those quiet moments. A place to let the machine slow to a stop. And to start it back up again in a new speed.
Crawl.
Take a few minutes and look at the picture above. Do you know any places like that? If so, would you ever go there for 30 minutes?
And think?
