Top Regional Job Search Groups On LinkedIn

In this post, I’ve identified the top regional job search groups on Linkedin. What’s the value of a regional group? Well, of course, joining a regional group allows you to build relationships with fellow job seekers, hiring managers, recruiters and others in your geographic area. Especially important if you are hoping to avoid a relocation at the end of your job search.
Even better, once you have built a friendship online and followed-up via phone, you can then organize a local meeting for coffee. You could also organize or be part of a “meet-up” where group members can really begin to network.
So, here are the regional groups that you should consider. Don’t see one in your neck of the woods? Do a search on Linkedin Groups for your part of the U.S. (or world). Or, hey, think about starting one! It’s very easy and makes a great conversation starter . . .
We’re not keeping score of popularity or adding hundreds of new ‘friends’ we may never know. We’re looking for people who understand that the real value of social networking is when it translates into meaningful relationships of trust. Where members help each other, form a community and prosper.

Over 10,000 people have been a member of this Cincinnati area networking group. The group meets each Monday morning and offers techniques for writing business correspondence and resumes, interviewing and technical skills related to the job and consulting search.

LinkedCincinnati is a group for professionals based in the Greater Cincinnati area, or with a personal or professional connection to the area. Individuals who become a part of this group understand the value of networking and building relationships to assist each other personally and professionally.
Jobs in Colorado is a networking group for individuals looking for employment in the state of Colorado.
Seattle-area Career Networking Group formed on Yahoo in 2006; JSS joined Plaxo & Linkedin in 2008. Members: Recruiters, HR, Staffing/Search Firms, Career Coaches, Hiring Managers and Job-Seekers. Topics: Opportunities, tips, resumes, resources, career news (this is the hidden job market!)

This is a group of people who are in career transition and seeking the support of others in terms of job leads, job search advice, etc.
The East Valley Job Seekers Group is a job search support group in East Phoenix Arizona that helps professionals in career transition through networking, sharing job leads, resources, and knowledge. Group is open to anyone in transition.
