What do YOU think?

Job Interviews Can Also Be Silly

In my last post I told you about how job interviews can be a real bore. Not sure what you thought of that one. Maybe you’ve been through a boring job interview and felt helpless. Maybe you found your own way of taking advantage of the “lack of a good interviewer vacuum”. Regardless, I’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment or e-mail me here.

So while some interviews can be boring, others can be downright silly. The example below is downright silly . . .

You’ll have to forgive my indulgence with Monty Python. I am not only a fan of British comedy but it takes me back to being a kid. Every Tuesday night, my Dad and I watched Monty Python together down in the basement. He in the old green chair and me sitting on the floor between his legs. We watched this show together even though it was not always appropriate for me to be in the room.

These are important memories these days as I lost my Dad to lung cancer back in May. You see, my Dad had a number of job search struggles in his life and eventually became a successful consultant. But I could see his pains as he worked hard to find his place in the work world. Comedy was always one of his outlets.

How do you find relaxation and distraction when things aren’t going as planned?
